I had a bit of a challenge maintaining my urban camo colour scheme when painting the Ethereal.
I then sanded the area down slightly to remove the slightly rough texture given by the LGS.
This avoided obscuring the cloth details in this area. I applied the LGS in several thin layers, using a slightly wet paintbrush and then brushing away most of what was applied to the model. I felt that it was important to get this area smooth, since it was at the front of the miniature and so a seam would really stand out. The Ethereal was my first use of liquid green stuff, which I used to fill the slight gap between the main part of the robe and the small front part which is attached. In the end, I just left the kind of belt scroll at the front of the mini off (since this would have made it very difficult to paint the inside parts of the robe).
I was initially considering painting it almost completely unassembled, since there are so many areas which become difficult to access once the model is fully assembled. The assembly of the Ethereal was fairly straightfoward, since it doesn’t really include any options or poseable parts.
